Activities for All Ages at The 2018 Great Big Home + Garden Show
Feb 7, 2018, 23:11 PM
The Great Big Home + Garden Show, happening February 2-11 at the I-X Center, has activities for every age, including the youngest members of your family. Kids will have opportunity to learn simple gardening techniques, complete a small construction project or learn about music in the Garden Showcase.
Here are a few examples of the activities your kids can tackle at the show:
Kids’ Gardening Day
Petitti Garden Center is hosting Kids’ Gardening Day on Sunday, February 11 from 12-4pm. Families are invited to stop by the gardening stage to have some fun completing simple gardening projects. Projects include creating edible sprouts growing containers, making a plantable Valentine’s Day gift, and designing a toilet paper tube bird feeder. The Petitti Gardening Stage is located near the Main Entrance to the show.
Home Depot Kids’ Workshops
Bring the kids for a Home Depot Kids’ Workshop! Children will learn how to use a hammer while constructing a small project of their choice and leave with their own orange workshop apron. Located in Booth #869.
Learn about Music and Cooking
Both the Garden Showcase with its Music! themed gardens and the Loretta Paganini Cooking Stage offer opportunities for kids to learn about music and cooking. The gardens built around different songs and genres are a great conversation starter for talking about music and its influence in our lives, while cooking demos will help get kids excited about being creative in the kitchen.
Playground World’s KidZone
Kids can have fun in Playground World’s KidZone, which features slides, swings, basketball hoops and the world’s safest fully-enclosed Springfree™ Trampoline. Located in Booth #601a. Parents can also sign-up to win their choice of one of three high-quality products that kids can enjoy for years!
The Great Big Home + Garden Show takes over the I-X Center February 2-11, 2018. Don't miss your chance to connect with hundreds of home improvement experts and get great ideas for your space. Get tickets now and start planning your visit. Admission for children ages 6 to 12 years old is $5. Kids under 5 are free. We can't wait to see you at the show!
